Why is this medication prescribed?

Nabumetone is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are drugs with analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects - they reduce pain, fever and inflammation. Nabumetone works by reducing hormones that cause swelling and pain in the body.

This medication is used to treat the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
